My Nicole and I were walking out the door to meet up with a friend for lunch together, when Vladi says to her, Blahdy blah blah..."and maybe Daddy will meet you for lunch..." and Nicole said, "NO Daddy, don't eat me for lunch Daddy, DON'T eat me!" He cracked up.
Today, after feeling sick for the past few days, Nicole was in quite a whiney state, about everything, even my trying to be patient and nice, or funny, was upsetting her. Finally, I just said, "Shhhhhhhhhhh...", and she responded, "No Mommy, Don't say 'Shhhhhh' this is NOT the library!" She was right, and I laughed.
A few weeks back I was getting dressed to go somewhere that Nicole thought I needed to wear heels (she always thinks I need to wear heels, and that she does too, for that matter) but she was chattering away on the floor in the bathroom, holding the designated pair of heels, when I realized she'd named them! The names were crazy unusual and I wrote them down so I'd remember (but it does no good when you can't locate the paper you wrote it on...will find and update later) She had them on the wrong feet but still seemed sure which was which (names). So I tested her, I put on properly. She still knew. Then I put them on my feet, and right way, she got the names right. I wonder if it was a fluke or if each one actually has its own personality?
I also wrote something else down, that I believe is her first explanation of a dream. She woke up and told me one morning, in storyteller mode: ...and you hugged me uuup....and the water came out of the bottom...of the sea...and it sprayed our hair...and the dolphin came out...and looked at me...and I ride her baaack...and I take a liittle bit of a swim with her. The waters go-one. The water didn't come out. (I asked, where did it go?) The water go home. (I asked, where?) She went to she's home. (Again, I asked, where?) The water lives in she's home.
She told almost the exact same story again later, and she spoke like she was having a memory she really wanted to tell me about. Or she may have been wanting me to relate to it with her. Of course, I was like riiight, and she went home, right?? This was so intriguing, I hope she tells me another one!
